As the season draws to a close, it's time to take stock of what happened...
In Rotobowl, I had one of the top teams all season, but then Ronnie Brown goes down, Vincent Jackson and Nate Burlson disappear, and I'm down the tubes...this team was hurt by my inability to grab players early in the season to help down the stretch...
In my one league, it was a bad season from the start - I think for a second year in a row, too many running backs early in the draft cost me...didn't make the playoffs.
In the last league, I make a surprising run over the last 5 weeks...winning my last two games to sneak into the playoffs as the #8 seed then beating the top seed and the #4 seed to make thge championship before losing...2nd place is not bad, but my downfall here is turning over players too quickly. I let a number of players go who were studs down the stretch while my top players were misfiring...Another team hurt by the Ronnie Brown injury...and the Matt Forte/Chicago offense debacle....
Keep in mind some lessons learned and next year, things could be different...

ONTO THE THE PLAYOFFS
So by now, you are either marching into the playoffs and bowing out....Before you pay your money and forget about the season, think about what you did and the mistakes along the way...One thing I've got to stop doing is over managing - I've grabbed and cut so many players based on one week wonders....keep a eye out and try to plan some moves. The league I did best in - I didn't make many moves...the others...well, you know the answer...
Good luck!

A BAD SUNDAY...
If you are in multiple fantasy leagues, you hope to win a majority of your games each weekend, but this Sunday for the first time, I had an oh-fer....
This may also give you an insight of why fantasy football is so tough...In one league, I'm now 3-7, the other 5-5, but in my Rotobowl league, I'm 9-1...I've got alot of the same guys on each team...luck has alot to do with it...I lost Rotobowl by less than 4 points....but I knew a loss was coming...I'd rather drop a game before the playoffs than during...
I'm at a loss as to why my other teams are soooo bad...I think I've outsmarted myself...I've made multiple moves which maybe in hindsight weren't the best...
Oh well, live and learn...on to week 10...
No more byes, but with Thursday night games, keep an eye on early starters....

THE SEASON ROLLS ON...
It's a constant battle to decide who to play, start and make moves for...the best decision maker is your gut...sometimes, we listen to too many different opinions and make snap decisions based on those 'experts'. I find most of the time, my first 'gut' thought is usually right. Example: I thought Brandon Jacobs would have problems today based on the opponent...as of this writing, he's done nothing as the Giants are getting pounded.
Look, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't...but, go with your instincts...most of the time, it will not lead you wrong...
One other note...be wary of making a move for a player just because he becomes available...unless he can help you as a starter, you might want to shy away from a move.

BYES START THIS WEEK!!!
Make sure you check your lineups and schedules to know when your
players are off. This is important...it could cost you a win....
Also, keep in mind...if you have only one D or one K, again, think
ahead! Make a move ahead of time...don't wait till the last minute.
One other tip...keep an eye on the waiver wire--you might be surprised
who shows up there....
Good Luck!

WEEK TWO...SIGH...
If you played against Chris Johnson, chances are you got smoked...he was out of this world in fantasy....I had him in one league, and went against in another....Same thing happened last week with the Philly defense.....
This week's lesson - play with your gut...it's your team, you make the decisions. Alot of times, I'll be swayed by last minute stories or input and make a change I end up regretting. Stick to your first thoughts...unless there's an injury involved, don't change....
Also, keep an ear out for last minute injury news on Sunday AM...the WR Wes Welker news caught alot of folks by surprise...and they got burned by not changing their lineups. Also, it might not be a bad idea to get your service's iPhone or smartphone app to allow you to make changes away from your computer...
Let's see - 1-1 in two of my leagues, 2-0 in rotobowl...week three is coming - also, byes start in week 4 - this is the week to plan ahead if you need to pick up a K orD/ST....

TAKE A BREATH....
I'm beginning to see the week one panic....everyone rushs out to grab
the week one wonders. Take a chill....last season, everyone rushed to
get TE Anthony Fasano after week 1....he ended up back on the waiver
wire by week 6...
If you have a need, fill it...otherwise, wait. If your league charges
for moves, it will save you some money in the long run....
